Orange County Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern access to Orange County Busted Mugshots, a private reference site that points readers toward public detention, police, court, and corrections sources. Using the pages means accepting these terms. Do not use the pages if you do not accept them.

This is a private service, not a government agency or an affiliate of the Orange County Sheriff, a jail, a police department, a court, or a corrections department. Neither this site nor its ad partners is a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA, and information may not be used for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

What the Service Is

The pages collect links and plain-language explanations about Orange County Current Detainees, New Booking Photos, city police records, eCourts, NCDAC, federal locators, and records requests. The site stores no official roster, court file, or booking-photo gallery. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, file a document, or act as a private investigation firm.

Acceptable Use

Access must be lawful and must not interfere with another person’s use of the pages:

  • Follow all applicable federal, state, and local law.
  • Do not stalk, threaten, harass, impersonate, or expose private information about another person.
  • Do not use page information for hiring, housing, lending, insurance, licensing, or other prohibited screening decisions.
  • Do not bypass security, probe restricted systems, or gain unauthorized access.
  • Do not scrape, crawl, copy, or run automated tools against the pages without written permission.
  • Do not disrupt availability, overload a service, or introduce malicious code.

FCRA Boundary

Orange County Busted Mugshots is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not provide background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services, and neither its advertising partners nor linked tools change that fact.

  • Do not use information to make hiring or firing decisions.
  • Do not use it for tenant or housing screening.
  • Do not use it to assess creditworthiness or insurance premiums.
  • Do not use it for licensing, permits, or government-program eligibility.
  • Do not use it for any other purpose regulated by the FCRA.

Outside Links and Tools

Links may lead to the Orange County Sheriff, city police, courts, NCDAC, BOP, ICE, news outlets, legal resources, or third-party search providers. They are provided for navigation and are not an endorsement. The outside organization controls its own content, availability, terms, pricing, and data handling.

No Warranties

The pages and links are provided “as is” and “as available.” No promise is made that information will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or available for every search. Custody status, charges, court entries, and government URLs change. Nothing here is an official statement from a Sheriff, jail, court, police department, or corrections agency.

Liability and Indemnity

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Orange County Busted Mugshots and its owners, partners, and providers are not liable for damages, losses, claims, or costs arising from access to or use of the pages, linked tools, or information. A user agrees to defend and hold them harmless from claims caused by the user’s conduct, misuse, violation of these terms, or unlawful use, including reasonable legal fees.

Ownership of Materials

Text, graphics, logos, layout, and code belong to Orange County Busted Mugshots or the applicable content partner. No material may be copied, distributed, altered, republished, or commercially reused without written permission, except where law allows.

Changes and Access

Terms may be revised at any time, with the updated version effective when posted. Access may also be limited, suspended, or blocked without notice and for any reason, including misuse, security concerns, or a breach of these terms.

North Carolina Law

These terms are governed by North Carolina law. Disputes will be handled in courts located in North Carolina, subject to applicable jurisdictional rules.

Severability and Questions

If a court finds one provision invalid, the remaining provisions stay in effect. The invalid provision will be narrowed only as much as needed to make it enforceable. Questions about these Terms may be sent through the Get in Touch page.
